I am pleased to introduce this issue of 'Journal of Pharmacy and BioAllied Sciences' (JPBS). This journal was launched as a peer-reviewed quarterly online journal from the year 2009, by www.opubs.com. With an increasing demand for a print issue, it is now published both online and in print media by Medknow Publishers. Our policy is to publish innovative articles, reviews, mini-reviews, rapid communications, and notes, dealing with all branches of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicinal / Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Bioallied Sciences, related to the conception, design, production, characterization, and evaluation of drugs and their delivery systems in vitro and in vivo. Areas of particular interest include: Pharmaceutics, Pharmacy Practice, Drug Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacology, Synthesis of Novel Medicinal Compounds, Analytical Sciences, Phytomedicine, Nanotechnology, Physical Pharmacy, Polymer Chemistry, and Microbiology, as applied to pharmaceutical, medical, and health sciences. Our official website, www.jpbsonline.org, and online submission of manuscripts are available at www.journalonweb.com/jpbs.

In the ever increasing and continuous flow of knowledge, it is incumbent for scientists and academicians to keep themselves updated with the latest developments while conducting their research. A journal exists as an idea created by authors and readers, with some editorial refinement. The Journal of Pharmacy and BioAllied Sciences will sincerely try to serve the purpose, by providing a single platform for scientists with multidimensional and interdisciplinary approaches, dedicated referees, and an international editorial board.

We request researchers and scholars to utilize JPBS for their research, to search and cite relevant articles. They are also encouraged to submit their quality research and critical reviews. We will try our best to make JPBS as an outstanding journal in the years to come, with active assistance of promising and innovative authors and full editorial assistance, to ensure a rapid turnaround of the submitted articles.

We hereby invite suggestions and proposals from readers and senior scientists on special theme-based issues. The special theme issues will have most articles on that theme and they will be edited by an invited guest editor, who would be an expert in the field.

The members of the Editorial Board and the Journal Committee will be happy to discuss and analyze the time-to-time progress of JPBS. I request all readers to refer the subscription of the journal to their institutional libraries, so that it can be made available to students and scientists from diverse disciplines.
